Bridgetown, Barbados, February 26, 2015 (CDEMA) - Representatives from a wide cross section of government, key stakeholder agencies, civil society and the private sector in Barbados participated in a three (3) day workshop on validating a draft Climate Smart Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Work Programme. The workshop was held 24 - 26 February, 2015 at the Baobab Towers, Warrens, St Michael and was hosted by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to implement Phase II of the Mainstreaming Climate Change and Disaster Management Project (CCDM-II).
Bridgetown, Barbados, January 12, 2015 (CCDRM) - The Canada Caribbean Disaster Risk Management Fund, supported by the Government of Canada through the Department of Foreign Affairs Trade and Development (DFATD), invites eligible Caribbean-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and community based organizations (CBOs) to submit proposals for community-based projects designed to reduce disaster and climate change risk in vulnerable CARICOM communities.
