According to the National Hurricane Center (in Miami, Florida, At 200 PM EDT 1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lisa was located by satellite imagery near latitude 16 5 North, longitude 82.5 West Lisa is moving toward the west near 15 mph 24 km/h) This general motion with some decrease in forward speed is forecast during the next couple of days On the forecast track, the center of Lisa will move near or over the Bay Islands of Honduras early Wednesday, and move near Belize late on Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts Strengthening is expected, and Lisa is forecast to become a hurricane overnight over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and continue to intensify on Wednesday Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles 110 km) from the center The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).

According to the National Hurricane Center ( in Miami, Florida, as of 5 00 PM,PM,( on October 31 2022 Tropical Storm Lisa is moving towards the west near 14 mph 22 km/h), and a westward to west northwestward motion is expected over the next few days On the forecast track, the center will pass south of Jamaica today, south of the Cayman Islands tomorrow, then move near or over the Bay Islands of Honduras early on Wednesday and approach Belize later on Wednesday Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph 75 km/h) with higher gusts Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Lisa is forecast to become a hurricane on Wednesday over the northwestern Caribbean Sea Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km) east of the center The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).

SITUATION REPORT

According to the Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI), as of 10:00AM, Hurricane Ian was located at 19.1N and 82.7W of about 87miles W of Grand Cayman with maximum sustained winds of 80mph. Hurricane Ian is moving towards the NW at 13mph with minimum central pressure of 980mb/28.94 inches.

SITUATION OVERVIEW

According to the National Hurricane Centre, at 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ian was located near latitude 16.2 North, longitude 80.3 West. TS Ian is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn toward the northwest is expected tonight, followed by a north-northwestward motion on Monday and a northward motion on Tuesday with a slightly slower forward speed. On the forecast track, the center of TS Ian is expected to pass near or west of the Cayman Islands on Monday, and near or over western Cuba Monday night and early Tuesday.

TS Ian will then emerge over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast tonight, followed by more rapid strengthening on Monday and Tuesday. Ian is forecast to become a hurricane on Monday and a major hurricane on Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).

SITUATION OVERVIEW

• Tropical Storm Ian is strengthening while moving westward over the central Caribbean. Hurricane conditions are expected over the Cayman Islands by early Monday.
• TS Ian will move south of Jamaica but is expected to impact western Jamaica with tropical storm force winds with a strong possibility of embedded hurricane force winds, high storm surge and high surf.
• The Cayman Islands will be impacted with heavy rainfall, strong hurricane force winds and high storm surge as TS Ian is expected to mature rapidly into a Category Two (2) hurricane as it approaches and moves over the island.
